The Beach Community

Hi readers!

In about a week I will be flying off to Brisbane. This trip will be my first travel trip that I will blog about and I am looking forward to it. Shortly after that my adventure will continue as I travel to Muscat, Oman on exchange and stay there for 6 weeks. During that time you will receive regular updates on the trip itself as well as first hand tips from me!

However, in this post I would like to talk about the beach. I live about a 15 minute drive from the closest beach, which really is not that far. I have never really thought about the beach outside of a place to go in summer, but it is much more than that.

Over the passed few days I have been at the beach a lot more than usual and I have realised why I come to like it so much. Whenever I am at the beach, there is always other people there (at least when the weather is good). These people are always out having fun. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sad person at the beach.

Instead of being inside, cooped up with technology (which don’t get me wrong I love) they are outside, smiling, laughing, splashing each other, building sandcastles and just enjoying the feeling of being completely happy if only for a few moments.

Even in the evening the beach is a hub for lively people to have fun while the sun is setting

I am lucky enough to live in a country where the beaches are picturesque and look like something from a travel magazine.

 

I have decided that next time I go to the beach I am going to take more time to really appreciate the beach side community. The vibrant and safe place that allows children to build sand mansions and castles with drawbridges and moats. A place where adults can relax under a tree with a book or play soccer on the sand. A place where people can go to exercise or do yoga or simply just to separate themselves from the rush of their day to day lives.
